I met Chuck Turner in 2002 while I was at a rehearsal one day at Ras-T Studio in Jamaica, Queens NY. He was outside the studio while we were rehearsing inside.
When the session was over he came inside and introduced himself to me. Then he complimented my Bass playing and said he is also a Drummer. It was a wonderful moment knowingly I am a big fan of his Music.
Back then the ifrolix band was not yet in existence, I was just a bass player for the Beating Hearts Band.
We did a couple local gigs together with Chuck Turner on Drums and myself on Bass. In Long Island and Upstate, New York. Soon after we became friends.
I started the ifrolix band in 2014. In 2016 Chuck Turner and I decided to promote this show at the Edge Lounge in Queens, New York.
We invited other local Reggae Singers to open the show. They were Shango Trexx, Tony Lowe, King Tdot and Sister Idrea.
This Video also features other Shows that I promoted with the ifrolix band at the Edge Lounge. This was the birth of the band with its first official Weekly Venue.
The ensemble for this show was Drummer Cornel Marshall. He is very talented and was the first Drummer for the famous Third World Band.
Keyboard Player Paul Geoffrey Zuniga, a great Belizean Reggae Musician.
The Guitarist was Keba whom Paul recommended to me. He also did a good Job.
I Mark Mckenzie, Organized, Promoted and played the Bass Guitar for this show.
I am please to present to you. One of King Jammy's Studio greatest recording Artist Chuck Turner.
